this is the first of many tutorials im going to write for my friends

  this one is for when your modem will light up and then reset within a minute
of getting online. what is happening is the assigned mac address you have is
assigned to another modem on the same node or within a radius of say a mile to your
house. and one mac address per node problem and they get in to a constant reboot
with the other modem theres a simple solution on your pc type 192.168.100.1
  in the address bar then it will connect to your modems software or gui
on the left column you will click address and you will see HFC MAC thats the number
you need to change to get new macs can be easy by snmp scanning  which i will go in to
detail further soon or i will post some or pm me so i know they dont get overused and
end up in a reboot  loop i will post a few to you get started then you will click
save and reboot if that dont work keep trying different macs if all goes with the
mac you use happy surfing
